Default Played My First 000-28

Somehow after 20 years of playing I had never played a 000-28. Well there was a 2018 000-28 V18 today that I tried, it was still new but made 4 years ago. All I can say is I don't know how no one has bought it yet.

I see why they are such a favoured and copied guitar, stunning to look at, very nice to play, excellent tone. I didn't have a pick but I'd think it would likely be a little bright strummed to my ears but I'm not sure. Very responsive too. Far far out of my price range though, but wow what a nice guitar. It's a shame that beautiful binding will probably fall off soon

It was considerably nicer than the Eastman E8OM I've played.

Mine is not at all (overly bright) when strummed. I often bring to trad/ballad sessions as my only guitar so I will use it for songs and to back the tunes. I use a fairly flexible trad pick on it for strumming like this. It takes a thick flat pick nicely too.

It is a lovely, versatile instrument.

The downside is it doesn't cut into a mix the way an OM does but that's kind of the point of an OM right, and you are going to accept that trade off playing a 000.

I love it for fingerstyle/picking, including leading trad fines - such a fast, responsive guitar.

Edit - binding is perfect so far - 2019 guitar

Yes, those 0s are very nice. I played a Custom Shop 00-28 in my local consignment shop last month and was blown away. Price was right, too.

Just...can't...buy...another...guitar...don't look into the light...

Not sure what you played, as I never heard of a 000-28 V18. But the 00028 is a fantastic guitar. I prefer the EC version, only because of the wider string spacing & gloss neck.

I use a pick on my 000-42, and it sounds great, not overly bright at all.

just got a 000-28 1937 today. It's amazing. Ordered it without ever playing one. It's the real deal.

I've been a fan of 000-28 (or similar) for >20 years now. My 000-ECHF & 1937-A 000-28 are both outstanding.
