Default Cheaper copy of Martin OM-28

Anyone know of any company that makes a cheaper version/copy of the Martin OM-28, or OM 21?

Not a direct clone perse but if you want a rosewood 000/OM size guitar, you'll be hard pressed to do better than an Eastman E8OM (sitka/rosewood) or an E20OM (adirondack/rosewood). These also are usually available with torrified tops as an option too.

The biggest difference is that the Eastmans are built to a short scale vs the traditional OM long scale.

I paid ~$800 for my Larrivee 20 years ago. Not sure what they are going for now but I am fairly certain they are still an absolute bargain for an all solid wood USA made instrument.

You will not find the tone of a Martin OM-28 in an Eastman. Been down that rabbit hole.

Eastman makes great guitars. Martin makes great guitars. They do not sound the same.

The Eastman E8OM-TC in my sig is a fantastic guitar, but it's not an OM-28.

Also, all of Eastman's OM models are 000 in Martin-speak, with short scale. One of the things that gives the OM-28 it's tone is the longer scale length. But even then, they would not sound the same.

I don't doubt that at all. I wish I could find one that I could afford. They may be out there.

Thanks for that explanation. It helps. I'll look elsewhere. I can't afford the Eastmans anyway -- checked them out on Reverb. So, do you know of a longer scale OM, Martin copy under $1000? That may be a difficult ask, I know.
