Default Who owns the 355 w/Fishman Prefix on photo page?

Just had a couple of questions for him/her.
Did you custom order the guitar set up this way?
If so, how much extra was it to have this done?
Ideally, I'd like to find something similar but preferably in the 555
model. Currently I have a '01 355ce-LTD which is nice, but my ears yearn for Mahogany so I think this one will have to go.

I don't own this guitar, but I do know that the 355 is available with and without the CE. Both are part of the standard line-up as shown on http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/models/300.html and I've seen both in stores. As of 2003, the CE comes with the Fishman blender instead of the Prefix. You may need to place an order if you can't find one at a dealer, but it should be no trouble to do so.

The 555 is also available in plain and CE versions, also both part of the standard line-up. However, if the 555ce comes with the ES instead of the Fishman.

My advice: Play both, and compare them directly with your current 355-LTD. You may find that you really like the mahogany, but the sapele may do the trick, and it may even be that you like your current guitar better.

Chris,
Thanks for the info. I'm not interested in the ce model, but rather,
the Jumbo without cutaway plus electronics more than just the
Matrix so I have some onboard control.
Thanks-Chris

You can get a 555 no cutaway with ES (or any electronics). You just have to order it through your dealer. You'll even save some $ on the no cutaway part.

You can order the C, E or CE on any Taylor model except the signature and special editions, and if you just take one or the other, the MSRP will be lower than with both. I read thread a while back in which someone said they were denied this option on a satin model, but I was able to do it on my TS 355 (I got the C only), and it was not because of the Taylorstock deal.
