Default (New Member) Need to find a dealer with good selection?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and will likely be buying a Taylor in the near future (first time buyer).

My local (small) Brookmays dealer has some in stock, but only "one each" of "some" of the models.

Where could I go to find several of each in stock so that I could try out each and hear any differences?

I am intrigued by the Big Baby Taylor, and would also like to see the new 110 models. Other than these, I like the 710 series.

Know of any reputable dealers with a larger selection of Taylors in either Central, North or Western Texas??

Do any "online" shops also carry Taylors? My local dealer here seems a little high in price.

THANKS!!!

Hey, welcome to the forum....

We have a couple of members from San Antonio, so one should be along shortly to give you ideas on the local dealers.
Otherwise, Larry Morgan Music in Garland (D-FW area) gets very good reviews. There is also a dealer in Wichita Falls that folks seem to like. You can get a list of Taylor dealers by region at the Taylor web-site. Taylor doesn't allow their dealers to advertise or sell over the internet, so you have to do some real-world searching.

If your e-mail is accessible, I'll send you an idea on pricing.

Yoda

Default Yoda, you can email me

Yoda, you can email me with Taylor prices, but I have seen their list online at the Taylor site.
Do have some samples of "real" pricing?

Cool

San Antonio........In the Dealer Hall of Fame Category, Check with Alamo Music when you are in Town, a great Taylor Dealer with good inventory. The Man to see is Maurice, the Guitar Manager and a super nice guy.

There is one in Austin, Strait Music also decent inventory.

But (IMHO) you would get the best price at Alamo with service to match.

I have been to both Alamo and Strait. I bought my 814cES from Tommy, the store manager at Alamo. Believe it or not, they are the largest Taylor dealer in Texas. Alamo has a great stock of Taylors, and the best service I have seen in a retail environment in a long time. Tommy and Maurice will work with you within your budget to get what you want -- they did for me.

I know that San Angelo is about 230 or so miles from San Antonio. I don't know what is in between for you. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum! There are three Taylor dealers here in Wichita Falls. Each has two to eight each, so not a huge selection. Each seems to have a variety though. I've heard good things about each. If you're interested. I can visit the stores and let you know what's in stock.

I've really enjoyed my Big Baby. Its hard to go wrong with that guitar. I haven't seen the 110 in person yet but I am looking forward to it.

Enjoy your search. Glad to have another Texan. Looking forward to playing the "do you know so & so...." I have a few San Angelo friends.

Also, I just went in to Alamo today, and Tommy has discounted all of the 2002 Taylors (i.e. pre-ES) to move them out. Some are 50% off of list (hmmm, can I say that?).
