ahh, the agf, where 'only 5' guitars is a major sacrifice and the mere thought of it causes stress and anxiety.

just look at what i had to walk over just to get to the computer:

Two I already own:
2008 Breedlove Revival 000-12 JTLE Deluxe
2007 Taylor GA8e

Then I would somehow need to acquire these:
Martin D 35
Gibson J 45
Gibson SJ 200

This is an ever changing list, but:

- Vintage Gibson L-00
- Vintage Martin 0-15
- Collings OM1
- Bourgeois 00 Country Boy
- SCGC H/13

I don't have the Cojones right now to buy a guitar from the 1920-30s...someday though

1: Larrivee OM-03R -
2: Martin D-16GT

I already own those two and don't feel the need to upgrade to another rosewood/sitka OM or mahogany/sitka dread.

3: I'd like to add a rosewood dread someday but can't decide between the MMV, HD-28V, HD-35 or D-28 Marquis. Oh well, I have time but limited money so it might end up being the MMV.

4: I'd love a steel string fingerstyle guitar with a cedar top. I'm attempting to build one with mahogany back and sides but my favorite thus far has been the Taylor 2011 Spring Limited GA 12-fret slot head with cedar/macassar ebony.

5: a Martin 00X1 would fit a niche as a possible travel guitar. I don't like anything smaller than that because everything I've tried sounds too "boxy."

Why anyone would want to own 5 guitars is beyond me. Seems excessively greedy to me. I own 2 it has to be said, and I would like to own a 3rd, giving me one for C tuning, one for Dadgad, and one for standard/ faltpicking. But 5? Really?

These are all guitars I've played in the past:

1946 Martin D-28
1937 Martin D-18
1942 Gibson J-45
My Taylor 714
My Biltmore Hearld Archtop

I'd be set with these

This is definitely a classic AGF thread. I love it!!!

Let's see, I'd have to keep my 000-15 because we've grown together as one.... So:

Martin 000-15
Martin D18GE
Santa Cruz 1929 00
Martin 000-18GE
Martin OM-28V

Deciding what to play might turn out to be impossible...

Not greedy. Practical.

One for strumming
One for fingerstyle
One 12-string
One Baritone
One beater for vacations

I own 4 nice acoustics, and whilst 4 or 5 may seem an awful lot, I will never downsize to any less than 4. The reason being is that variety is the spice of life.
My ears are all over the place. Some days certain guitars sound good, other days they sound less good. Out of the 4 I own, at least one pleases my ears every single day. And that contributes to my enjoyment of practicing.

Haven't found them yet, but I'm sure enjoying the search...

Taylor 416ce
Gibson J-45 Standard
Martin OM-1

Can't think of two others I'd like to have. And in reality, I'll likely never own more than one guitar at a time. Just can't do it.

I can't make a whole list since I haven't played enough guitars, but I'll at least start:

Larrivee OM-09 (I own it now and think it's almost perfect)

Unfortunately, that's the only one I can commit to at this point. I suspect others would ultimately include a Martin OM-42, a Collings, a Taylor 12 fret, and either a Rainsong or Composite Acoustics OM.
