And if she ever got done singing her introductions, I'm sure we'd be able to hear it.

There are so many good ones, and I've been introduced to more through this thread (even if it was a zombie thread when someone picked it up in March).
I can't say she's my absolute favorite, because there are so many wonderful lady singers, but I could listen to Kate Rusby sing the phone book. So, definitely a favorite. Susan Tedeschi is another, in a completely different genre. Probably not the phone book with her, though.

If you made this far down the thread, I have a treat for ya'all. I did not see her name anywhere above (if I missed it, apologies). Maybe that's because she is an Electric Lady, but that should not disqualify her. Enjoy...
Ana Popovic. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Oa8UAsV2vNg Oh, and I agree with lot of the afore mentioned ladies, disagree with others, but Bonnie Raitt is a class unto herself.

Lefty Blues mentioned this one and believes she needs another mention.
Karin Bergquist (Over the Rhine) Great writer, player and vocalist. There are numerous others but tip my hat to Mrs Berquist |

Ellis Delaney is my favorite. Tylan Greenstein is a close second.
Ellis really should be better known than she is. Amazing talent. I'm old enough to have heard decades of singer songwriters. She is up there with anyone. |

I heard a Song by Nora Jones the other night and quite liked it. I am not sure if she was the author but her father is Ravi Shankar.

Good choices. I'll add classical guitarist Sharon Isbin to that list. Not a singer/songwriter, but an outstanding guitarist who doesn't limit herself to just classical music.
