Well, this is fun! In no order of preference:
  • Somogyi MD or OM
  • Doerr Solace
  • Petros FS - short scale 12 fret
  • Greenfield G2 or G4
  • Martin OM - a nice old one

I'd be tempted to swap one of those for a really nice baritone.

Hmm . . . what's wrong with this "top 5" list?

I mostly like what I've got:

- Custom Nick Lucas model (based on 1937 Gibson). Made by a local builder. Got it.

- Late 1950's Southern Jumbo - I've got a 1957 J50 so I'm close. I let a great 1958 SJ get away about 7 years ago. **sigh**

- 1937 Kalamazoo KG11 - Got it

- Pogreba Resonator - Let one of these get away at a Vintage Guitar Show a few years ago. I couldn't touch one now for twice the price now. **sigh**

- 1965 Harmony Rocket electric - Got it

Hey Marshall, we've got a Pogreba at home. It's gray with a '58 Dodge Lancer hub cap cone cover. We had a blue Pogreba with a Rambler hubcap about 15 years ago. I stupidly traded it away. Luckily, I found "Sir Lancelot", and gave it to my wife for our 20th wedding anniversary last year.

They are rare as hen's teeth, and Larry is a kick in the pants! Is he still building? -ZI

1) Ovation Balladeer 6-string
2) Ovation Glen Campbell 12-string
3) Ovation Nylon string
4) National resophonic -the metal bodied one with the etching of lovers in a canoe on the back...

Oh, and my fifth choice could be something like a Composite Acoustics Cargo model, and probably would be.

Thankfully, I live in a real world where I'm not limited to how many gee-tahrs I can have.

I couldn't figure out how to squeeze a Monteleone archtop in my list, but that's okay, because I really want one just because I want one, even though it wouldn't be all that useful to me to have.

Rather than mention specific models, I'd probably just go with this:

1. Martin Dread
2. Martin OM
3. Taylor GA
4. Gibson Jumbo
5. Good Parlor guitar
