Any reason there isn't a Fingerstyle forum?
There are topics I'd like to discuss that don't fit in the Carbon Fiber forum (where I post most since Carbon Fiber guitars brought me here) about songs and techniques that don't fit in the Classical forum, since they aren't classical songs or classical guitars.

I personally *think* a fingerstyle forum and maybe a flatpicking forum would be oft-visited and spur conversations not currently taking place.

We have to use the "Play & Write" subforum to discuss actual playing. It would get lost in the shuffle with all the geeks' postings in the general discussion.

"Play and Write" forum. As a rule the sub-headings describe accurately what should be in the forum.

We all suffer through pigeonholing our particular interest in guitar to the topics shown here. I play "crossover" nylon string guitar. It is only vaguely related to classical, but that's where crossover players post.

Why not "Flat Picking", "Travis Picking" or "Hybid Picking" forums? You can only sub-divide areas of interest so far.

"Play and Write" is the correct sub forum to discuss fingerstyle playing.

It would get ridiculous to have a forum for every possible type of playing.

Play and Write seems like the best place and you can always customize your thread title accordingly. If a large number of people are consistently sharing finger style pieces, then the Mods can determine if it warrants a sub forum.
Best,

I'm a fingerstyle player and I never felt limited by the sub sections. It's just good to mention your perspective when discussing various subjects as many seem to forget we exist. Someone flat-picking bluegrass is likely to see things very differently than you and I.

To further what Egordon99 mentioned above, the mods do not determine any new subforums. That would be the prerogative of the forum's owner.

Yea, because it would have to include clean, sloppy, drunk, sober, inspired, bored and on and on...
