Default Small wood variation in neck

I got a nice Cordoba C5 and it is great. It has a small wood discoloration near the neck joint. Wondering if the makers mights have used a filler or wood to correct something. Don’t think It’s a big deal but any thoughts? Thanks

It appears to a sliver of tear out on the neck that was filled with a fresh sliver….my guess is that prior to being finished the contrast wasn’t as stark as it now is…when finish is applied it sometimes makes wood darken more than expected…or they might have just used a dark filler or piece of wood and like you, didn’t think it was a big deal….it wouldn’t bother me..

It’s a normal correction, well within the realm of acceptability.

Shouldn't have any impact, not on reliability nor value.
