Nice looking guitar, and yes, the standard Telecaster recipe can cover a lot of ground sonically.

Now that I'm retired and can mess around guitar playing every day, I figure in another 20, 30 years at most I'll have figured out how to get most of the good sounds out of my Telecaster. Then it'll be time to move on to something different.

Of course I'll be pushing 100 by then so my fingers will probably be real tired.

Congratulations! That is my all-time favorite Tele look. I have one similar, also a 2006 "60th Anniversary Diamond Limited Edition" (only 1,000 made). I rarely take it out of its case because I value it too much. Wouldn't be a "keep at school" guitar for me!

Inspiring thread and groovetastic choice in the guitar!

It's late for my input, but I recently pared down to my essential guitars. Among them are the two electrics I most play and feel they can cover everything, a PRS Mira (original version) and CiJ 62RI Tele.

Even between them, the Tele is the more versatile, and I really like the harmonics of a neck pickup at the 24th fret position (The Mira's doesn't quite have that, as it has a 24 fret neck).

Glad to see there's life in the old thread yet!

Jr's new guitar has a 60 button on the back. Not sure how long Fender extended the anniversary celebration (didn't the Tele go into production in '51?). Marketing can be so confusing!

I believe it was for the 60th anniversary of Fender's beginning in 1946. A lot of 2006 products received the button. I had a 2006 Pro Jr amp with that it on the back.
