Sounds like a good plan. Nothing like fresh strings to bring out the best in a guitar (once they have been broken in)

It could be because of any reason that has already been mentioned here, but I liked the Taylor better for these arrangements. I thought the Martin single notes in the mids sounded very good in comparison, but the Taylor sounded better, all around, to my ears.
If you get around to changing those Martin strings, you should do this again. Obviously you want to know for sure which one records these tunes the best. In the end, either works fine. |

Once you change strings on the guitar(s), do a blind test by not telling us which is which. Then do a poll. Seems like a much better way to get at listeners' true preferences.
