Fingerstyle vs. playing with pick and string longevity
As opposed to playing fingerstyle? I'm wondering if the body chemistry causes the most wear or would it be the opposite and the hardness of the pick would be more of a factor.

I would think if you are playing bluegrass or any style with fast hardcore cross picking, you are kicking the junk out of your strings.

Unless you do Pete Townshend windmills all day, most of the wear on strings is from the fretting hand.
