Default Should I "Upgrade": A Question for the board.

This thread got me to thinking, the only two things I've found so far in life where the more you pay, the more you get is boots and guitars. Of course this is within reason - for me, it's $275 for a pair of good boots and $3,000 for a good guitar.

What have you guys found in life where it pays to pay more?

I have a tee shirt that says "Life is too short for bad coffee, cheap beer and boring women"

And at least for mountaineering boots, too much is never enough (when a friend bought his $800 winter boots he said "that is only eighty bucks a toe"). However, two of my favorite guitars are the cheapest.

Hi DB...
We ''upgraded'' from towing a trailer behind our SUV to an RV 2 years ago - definitely worth it.

I also roast our coffee...so worth it.

You know the old saying, "you get what you pay for"? I've learned my lessons the hard way (I think) many times with regard to that credo. And yet, there are still great values to be had out there. Many fine guitar builders are offering extremely good value. It's all relative in the end. The more you can afford, the more you will want and in superior quality. The key is to enjoy what you got. (I'm preaching to myself )

Well said, well said.

You should go rent tomorrow the movie "Fandango" (w/Kevin Costner) - it has one of the funniest parachutes scenes EVER!!
