Chord progression help needed, please.
Hi guys!
I'm playing a gig this coming weekend where I have to segue from a song that ends in Emin to a song that begins in Cmaj. Anyone have any good, not too lengthy, chord progressions to connect the 2 songs? Thanks for your help. |

OK, maybe this is kind of cliche as over used with some Beatle-Bowie vibe, but I throw this in sometimes when making similar transitions:
Em Am Am7/G Am6 Fmaj7/C C and variants That may be drawn out and round about, because there are much shorter changes. Drama! Reason I have always like this is the minor-maj transition, while staying full bodied sound wise because so many strings, except for the Am6, but that's kind of the low part of it turning around.

If the original key is Em then a quick B7 (or D) to G or G7 will put you right there into C. Exactly how you do this will vary with different time signatures, but try it.

Em straight to G7 ought to work.
If you want something longer and more traditional (more functionally convincing) go through the 5ths: Em7-Am7-Dm7-G7 - those are all diatonic to C, but it would also work with A7 and/or D7 in place of the min7s.

Thanks very much for the suggestions!
After trying a couple of these, I think I'll go with: Em-D-C-G7-C It works. |

That will work fine. Good luck.
