Be very careful. Your heart may not be content unless you take it home to play forever! John’s work is highly addictive.
And highly recommended!

Just a friendly warning…. Hahaha

“ am going to guess this might be some of your spalted oak burl from your yard. If I am correct, I have plans for your lard…. Hahaha”

Please do NOT put the lard in with my new guitar when shipping! Hahah

Have fun, all

The Sitka/imbuya graybeard.

Bicote bridge and fingerboard

The fingerboard and pegnead veneer are one continuous pattern.

The neck is maple with a mahogany spline that fits into a body mortise. The spline is fit into the neck with a French dovetail

That is really beautiful and unique! I've never seen wood like that before. And I really like your bevel design as well, it's like a Ryan and Laskin bevel combined and it looks fantastic

Thanks Bro!

Here is a look at a portion of the Imbuya back with FBM purfling and a splash of mineral spirits

I have to concur, the entire faceplate on the peghead matching the fretboard and carrying on to the bridge is simply stunning.

Smile Acronyms, dang

OK, I’ll give up, what is FBM?

Whatever it is, it’s very pretty, and it looks like purfling you used on a couple of mine

Looks like you’re making good headway! And I’m sure you’re having fun…

FMB is the infamous Fiddle Back Mahogany. You do have some of that. I'm running out but may have enough for one more guitar.

That really has some spectacular dimension in the purfling.

Smile Fiddle Back Tree

Now I remember… the Fiddle Back Tree

Such pretty wood. Looks as beautiful against this back and sides as it does on my Super dark Brazilian !

Looking very nice, John

And have fun at La Conner

Cheers

Paul

Boy John, that's a sweet one. I have to assume you have this one at the show? I'll bet it doesn't last a day there. That green really pops and the figure on the front is just stunning! Nice work

Thanks Mike.
This on just made it's way to visit Tony. It's about 3 weeks behind your cocobolo guitar. Bench siblings.
