Wow. A true work of art! That soundhole/end graft are just stunning!

Im excited to hear the demo. With that much care going into the aethetics, I can only imagine the amount of work that went into the voicing!

Wow, he has an apprentice already? Seems like yesterday he was in California himself.

I sent this link to Michel, suggesting that the name of the guitar should’ve been “Fantômas”—he really outdid himself on this one.* Congratulations, Doug, on such a fine instrument! Can’t wait to hear it!

* Of course, the guitar is much prettier than a Citroën—it’s the flying part I was referring to… perhaps a better depiction of flight:

Default Antoine Aubry Demo Video - Aboudib Modified Dreadnought

Below is the official video demo of the Aboudib Italian Spruce - Bois de Rose Modified Dreadnought "A Somogyi Experience".

In Michel's words: "An homage to my mentor Ervin Somogyi. This is the first Aboudib guitar using his Modified Dreadnought shape. It also features Ervin's unique carved rosette style, with a Celtic pattern I designed.

This gorgeous piece was composed for the guitar and played by Antoine Aubry."

The video and audio recording are also by Antoine Aubry.

I shared with Antoine and Michel the joy I received listening to this inspired and sublime performance. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I have!

Very nice. My last guitar started out as a mod d 7 string before going the nylon route.

Spectacular guitar, Doug! I love the colors of the wood, and the carving is amazing. I hope it arrives safely and soon!

Thank you Diogo and JL, I feel very fortunate to be receiving this fine instrument.

That's right Tom, It does seem like a short time since Michel brought his MA-M build with him to B.I.G. in 2021. Before arriving at B.I.G., he spent time in California getting feedback on that guitar from Jeff Traugott and Ervin Somogyi, which we now know, sewed the seeds that led to his apprenticeship with Ervin.
