Is there a D'Angelico of flat top makers?
I was looking at a picture of a D'Angelico New Yorker that was for sale and it got me to wondering whether there was/is a flat top luthier who is held in that much awe. D'Angelicos seem to sell in the $20,000 to $80,000 range. War time bones and pearls are up there, but there is no one particular luthier that I've ever heard of who actually made them. Does anyone think that there are there any modern day flat top luthiers who have the potential to reach that kind of status?
