Default String Gauge for Gibson FJN?

Longtime lurker, first time poster…

I have a ‘64 Gibson FJN and am looking for any experiences or advice on string gauges (and have at it on string recommendations in general while you’re here!).

I know it was built to accommodate nylon or steel strings, and I think 12s came on it (and sound fantastic), but I’m just curious if anyone knows of potential issues with using 12s on this model and how it is braced. Or maybe that’s what it was intended to be used with, in addition to ball-ended nylon strings?

Cheers!
Paul
