Default buzz!!!

i'm experiencing a buzz on my 310 after drying it for the last 3 days... its tuning has gone down from the standard tuning which means the belly has normalized right?

so what do i do next? adjust the truss rod? or go to the shop to check? before drying, there wasn't any buzz... its just too wet... i had to...

how safe is it to adjust the truss rod myself?

Adjust and take note on paper how much you've turn and if you need you can unturn it back..that's idiot proof...

do it slowly untill the buzz goes off...

If you sent it back....they'll charge you for it....I guess it is better to learn how to adjust the truss rod...since I guess this will not be your last guitar...

i've turned the rod till the buzz is off but the action is very high and the distance on the 6th fret when the 1st and 14th fret is pressed is very far... and the lower frets now start to buzz...

so i turned it back till its about .010" as stated on the paper... however the buzz still remains...

has it got to do with the saddle or something? the guitar not set up properly?

How did you know that the guitar was too wet? What was the previous problem?
How did you go about drying it?

i previously put in silica gel into the case and the soundhole and it turns pink the next day for 4 days... the top and back looks swollen as well and as i start to dry it with the gels.. the tuning went down so i pressume that the guitar is indeed wet.... isn't it so?

It is hard to say....
Remember that the top and back of the guitar are supposed to have a slight arc in them.
What is the humidity in the room where the guitar is kept?
Was the action on the guitar high?

in singapore the humidity is about 70-80... yeah.. so i guess my room is about the same...

the action wasn't really high at first...

oh... slight arc is it? i see...
and the guitar did not buzz before i use the silica gels...

Can you get a digital hygrometer to see what the humidity is?
Generally if a guitar is too wet the action would get a little high.
Adversly when it is too dry the action will get low and it will start to buzz.
So two things are possible.
Either the guitar was too wet and the action had been set lower to make it playable and now that it is at a proper humidity level the action has come down too low and it has developed a buzz
or..
The guitar was not too wet but now it is too dry and so the action has become lower.
You really need to get a hygometer to see what the actual humidity in and around the guitar is.

Rufus.

1. Your 310 takes medium strings...and if you are using light then there will be buzz...Change it to medium and do the adjustment...

2. maybe the previous had the action on the saddle lowered too low that was why it buzz....

3. Must have a look at it to verify ....

4. Or there was a problem with the guitar to start with so that was why it was sold at a good price to you..Sorry no PUN intended

anyway, i'll bring it down one day for the technician or something to check and to install bone and my pick up altogether...

which will be better davis or sinamex or luther? which will be cheaper also?
