So will the miniflex 2 install through the end pin without any alterations? Can you plug in straight into an amp?

Yes, the endplug supports the two mics that are on goosenecks. The two mics together help reduce feedback. I got directly into a Dtar preamp and EQ the mids. Very good sound. But the system is 40%? of the cost of the guitar.

Check this out - This is tree #1 (of about 10 in the bunch). This one yielded a lot of soundboards with the rectified ("stripey") pattern in this quadrant- including (probably - not completely sure) the top in the last few pictures:

Remember that the outside of the tree is typically the middle of a bookmatched soundboard, so the orientation is reversed between the tree and the soundboard.

This photo is from PRT, the sawmill that processed the Holden logs. A huge amount of care went into making sure the quartersawing was as accurate as possible. The "silking" that you see is one of the best ways of verifying a good quartersawn top (in addition to simply viewing the end grain, which is also possible on this guitar without peripheral binding).

Tree #1 was so named because it grew, creekside, at the intersection of Railroad and Copper Creek, and was the first tree marked in the original forest survey. It is also the tree in the photo on the brochure which came with your guitar.

Can't be completely sure about this, but I've spent so much time with these trees over the past year that I'm starting to recognize them like my own kids
