Mortise and tenon neck bolt size?
Does anyone know what size the Martin mortoise and tenon neck bolt is? I know this isn’t technically a bolt on neck but I have read many threads that indicate the bolt is definitely structural. A little background; I recently purchased a used gpcpa4 for an incredible price, however the neck angle isn’t very good and there is a small gap at the lower part between the neck and body. I have read these use a mortise and tenon neck joint that has a bolt that can come loose and cause the glue to become less stable and cause this gap. I also read that tightening the bolt can help close the gap and get the neck back to a better angle.
So upon discovering this info I took off the little piece of wood covering the bolt and to my surprise, there is no screw, just the thread, meaning the bold was removed. I would like to get a replacement bolt to help add more structural integrity to the joint until I can get it properly fixed. |

Sounds like a good reason to give Martin Customer service a call. They’re very helpful.
