That one looks allot like mine.
I too waited a long time to get one. Mine is 2014 Ultimate Wildwood. Was afraid of buyer's remorse. Then I heard it. Then I set it up for me. Never thought about the big ticket again. |

The only Gibson I've inspected closely is my 2021 60's original J-50 which I purchased new. I like it a lot. It arrived to me looking near flawless. The only thing worth noting was mirror inspection of the interior revealed a bridge plate with a little split of wood missing, nothing major but I watch it to make sure it doesn't migrate. By all rights this probably shouldn't have escaped QC, but alas...It's still a wonderful guitar.

A thread 17 months and 8 pages in the making. That has to be some kind of record when it comes to the quality control (or lack thereof) of one builder.

I have two "cheaper" Gibson acoustics, a G-00 and G-45 Studio. I prefer the sound of these guitar over the more expensive models such as a J-185 or J-45. I guess I just like the crisp clear and bright sound of walnut.
Anyway quality seems good even on these cheaper models. The G-00 3rd fret Low E string (G note) buzzes a little if I strum to hard, but it's really not an issue. I have always been a Taylor fan, as I received a Taylor 814ce 15 years ago as my first good acoustic. However, I am now much more into the Gibson sound, and I rarely use the 814 anymore!
