The Fretboard Journal Summit next month looks amazing!
Hello,
I am getting more and more psyched for the Fretboard Journal Summit in a few weeks. To be in a coastal resort, listening to live acoustic music from Dave Crosby among others (and meeting the artists) in an intimate setting, to hear lectures by Luthier's like Bill Collings and Jeff Traugott, and to attend talks about collecting, restorations, tonewoods- I just don't recall there being any other event quite like this. It sounds incredibly special and I'm really looking forward to being there. I keep checking the FJ website to see if they leak any of their "surprise" musician names, and see now that Santa Cruz Guitars will be doing free setups! Now I have to lug at least one of my guitars down..... Best, BHO

I have my ticket to the gathering and my room booked at the resort. I'm looking forward to it.

I’m there all three days. Mark Goldenberg and I will play a set of music from our Artifact album, as well as give both solo and duo workshops for the Peghead Nation. Otherwise I’ll otherwise likely be found loitering about the booth of the Santa Cruz Guitar Co.

I'm excited but I can't decide which guitar(s) to take and what kind of beer to put in my camper's fridge. And how much cash to take for the swap meet.

I wouldn't mind going, but the travel and lodging cost are beyond what I'm willing to spend on it. |

Really sounds like a good time. So what if posters want to create interest? It's a great spot, coastal weather is best in the fall, many wonderful guitars some if not most of us can't afford, and to those that can, no more expensive than say a golfing weekend. I'd love to park my trailer there, but alas, I'd be tarred and feathered if I were out of cellphone range for three days on my daughter's due date.

Good lord, can't someone just be excited? It is not a sponsored post. It's my excitement for the event.

Sorry, I think we'd all like to attend a function like that. If we had our tickets in hand, and $10,000 extra in the bank in case we found " the one," we'd be very excited. I know I would be. Since I'm within spitting distance but have family obligations to attend to, would you settle for envy?
