Differences between D18 and ambertone

Comparing the same models from the same year, say 2012, is that just a difference in the finish or does it have differences in structure/sound?

Ambertone is just the finish. The guitar underneath would be the same as long as they are same spec models and no additional custom features were ordered with the finish.
