Default Is there something wrong with this martin?

This sat in the case in the shipping box unopened for over 24 hours.

Note the light "ring" or discoloration around the edges...

Should I worry?

I see it, about an inch in from the upper waist ? For those having trouble seeing it, imagine hand staining a guitar front, and while the stain is fresh, take a clean rag and just barely remove/ lighten the stain within an inch or so of the upper bout. It's kinda ghosty, hard to discern. Not sure what would cause it. Did you let it acclimate before you opened the box ? Oops , I reread your post , and you did let it sit. Can you photshop the pic and put dotted lines on the part you're concerned with? If you can email the seller with pics and run it by them, that's all I can think suggest.

Look around the edges the wood is lighter.
I have looked at other 000-15ms and they dont appear to have that 1/4" or so lighter band around the edges

I left the guitar in the case and the case in the box for over 24 hours.
More like 30 or so hours.

If you look the lighter color is all the way around the edge around the top.
It feels kind of rounded if i rub my hand over it.

1. Is it used?

2. If so, is it that the satin finish has polished a bit from a players arm?

3. How do you like how it sounds and plays?

Not sure what you'd call what I did here, but this negative sorta image of the original shows the area he's talking about. Hope it helps

I tried to put some arrows in to point it out.

I don not see this on other 000-15ms

Random picture I found:

It is not used it is new.
It sounds good but if there is a problem like the top is bowed out or something then I do not want to keep it.

Absolutely, their customer service is great.

Also, you just spent a lot of money on a new guitar, if you're not happy with the finish, whether it's right or not, exchange it.
