I told the main organizer I was done with the jam but then I thought about it and said to myself, "You fool. You're going to let 12 years of playing in the jam because of one guy who hasn't been there all t hat long? So I went back yesterday and it was a great jam. I didn't talk to him and he didn't talk to me but we both played the same songs (except my cheap guitar was in tune and he refuses to tune his expensive handmade guitar.)

That’s the spirit. I had a similar experience early on in my musical “career”. It really knocked me off my game for a while. It was a very unpleasant experience. In the end, I realized it had nothing to do with me. It was just the guy’s awful personality. I let it go, forgave him in my head, and now we can actually converse and discuss music all those years later.
