Filing a Blue Chip
Anyone every file down or cut and file down a Blue Chip thumbpick? I'd like a bit less of pick than what the JDL model has and I have a couple of extra picks to work on.

I have. I used 500 grit sand paper, then polished with microfiber pads.
I didn’t need a file, it went pretty easily. |

I have the regular BC thumb pick and I just used a Wolfram glass file to get it to the JD size (I have 2 JDs). It took 5 minutes.

I was thinking of taking a Wolfram file to a Blue Chip thumb pick, but was worried I might gum up the file. That’s great to hear. Did you need to polish the pick afterwards, or was it smooth?

Barry your title reminds me of a Joe Satriani album - Flying In A Blue Dream.

I use the Wolfram Pro which has a very coarse side for acrylics and then a smoother side and then went to my mesh sandpaper 2400 grit. It just took a few seconds with a bristle brush to clean the file under some warm water.
