Default 00 suggestions

I have my sights on an Eastman E10OO-TC-SB. Anyone have experience with this model. It is a 12 fret short scale with with a 13/16 nut. I am trying to keep my price range at 1,500ish.

Before I pull the trigger I’d like to see if there were any other suggestions that meet a similar spec (short scale, 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 nut).

Primarily use will be for finger style.

Thanks for any info.

A Larrivee is a good choice!

Hi, I have a 2020 E40-00 - and it is divine. It is modelled on a Martin 00-42 ish.

Since I bought it it has simply matured, and is a wonder to play ... note this comes from a Collings player.

Here's a sort of comparison:

If that's what you want I'd say go for it!

If I were looking for something along those lines I'd try a Guild M-20, with serious street cred. I capo often, so the extra real estate of a 14 fretter is a good option.

Well, that’s what I get for asking for suggestions. Thats a beauty. I’ll have to see if I can stretch to that one.

Thanks, I’ll take a look.

I have a 12 fret E10 00 and it's very good, especially at that price point.
Wide nut, lovely chunky C shaped profile. Lot's of headroom from the adi top.

Sure you know this already but worth considering that the rosewood back and sides on the E40 00, E20 00, etc will give you a slightly different 'flavour' than the mahogany on the E10 00.

Also 2 3/8" string spacing at the saddle.
Lot's of room for fingerpicking!

There are some E20OOs out there new (if you can get a discount) or used in that price range. Not the TC model, but still sounds good.

The Furch Vintage 1 OOM is not short scale, but it is 12 fret with a 1 3/4" nut width. Same price as above.

The Larrivee 00-40MH and the 00-15 are pretty close to your price range. The Larrivee has a 12 fret neck and 1 3/4" nut and 2 1/4" saddle, but a 25.5" scale. It also sings like a bird. Wood binding and it came beautifully setup, perfect really. USA made.
The 00-18 might be out of your budget.

Thank, as I am looking I am having a hard time getting away from the E10OO, I have found a bunch of Eastman locally but haven’t been able to find an E10OO to play. May have to buy one on faith.

Hi, Eastman also make a more modestly priced E20-00 and Which, will be of the same build and presentation quality as my delightful E20-P.

Also the mahogany version (E10-00) would be a slightly cheaper option.

I've got a Blueridge BR-371. Decent guitar for the price. Has the wider 1-7/8" nut and the short scale 24.75

I'd suggest looking for a used Leo Posch 00.
