Pierre Bensusan playing his signature Ryan on the Altiplanos album.
Ian Anderson playing his little Martin.
And another yes for Doug Young!

Always loved this demo.....1937 D-28. I think I may have posted it here a few years back. Raw file...no post processing.

Callum Graham plays the best recorded sound I have ever heard in a mahogany (baritone?..) guitar!

I heard a demo of a 30’s Martin OM-18 Shadetop a few years ago on A YouTube clip from Norm’s Vintage Guitars…that absolutely made me cry. It was amazingly sweet & clear.

It was one of less than 100 made, I think…so I’ll never have one. But…it was amazing.

Fingerstyle players:

Relatively unknown player, who should be better known: Ben Powell - both his albums, "Preliminaries", and "Close to Home" ... can be sampled on Bandcamp. Exquisite !!

Antoine Dufour gets a wonderful recorded sound within his niche of playing style. Try the album: "Existence"

Flatpicking:

Really nice picking and recording by Bob Minner on his album "Solo". It's an 11-song album of instrumentals recorded exclusively on a Collings CJ 45 T

Other acoustic instruments:

A current favorite of mine is a 'lock down' recording made by Andrew Marlin "Witching Hour" .... gorgeous mandolin instrumentals accompanied by fiddle, bass, and guitar. Definitely at least check out: 'Fireflies and Fairydust, Pellinores Ride, Woodland Star, Just A Pup' ... you're definitely bound to have some new favorites!

Bonus: don't forget frequent contributor here: Dustin Furlow ... check out "Woodscapes"

Absolutely killer tone, and he doesn’t play fast at all. Lovely

The Callum Graham stuff is a major WOW. No looping? All in real time? I couldn’t do it in another 30 years of real effort.

But I still manage to have FUN! Hahaha

Thanks for posting

all these cool recordings

I’m particularly fond of the two live Neil Young solo albums, Massey Hall and the Cellar Door….

I have fairly unsophisticated tastes when it comes to guitar "sounds".

Anything that Lightnin' Hopkins has recorded hits the spot for me.

I've got two favorites, Stephen Stills Treetop Flyer, and David Crosby's Guinnivere off the From the Front Row live dvd. I used Treetop Flyer for sound and reference checks in my studio for years.
