I bought one of those Guild Bob Marley guitars....
Not that I need a entry guitar...but for $199 from MF deal of the day (which didn't last long) I couldn't resist...
I figure I'll keep it in pristine shape.. and maybe sale in a couple of years for a profit

I saw that too. I've owned three Guilds, two of them USA-built, and I've had problems with all of them.
I want to like Guild guitars but they don't seem to like me. I wish you luck and will look forward to your review.

I have been wanted to try a Guild M-20, but have been holding off for a while to see if Yamaha can have a positive impact on Guild.

Sounds like an awesome deal.
Forgive me, but I can't help thinking of this video: |

You guys make it sound like Guild's QC is down in the dumps. I have 2 Oxnard Guilds, a New Hartford, and a Westerly. All are wonderful. By all accounts here and over on LTG Oxnard is building at a very high level.
I can't speak to the import line. |

I have the guild Bob Marley that I bought to keep in Florida, for when I visit my folks. It’s actually a really nice guitar. Definitely the easiest playing guitar I’ve ever owned. Very light, and responsive, with nice tone to boot. Comes set up with low action, and is fun to play. I played a handful of these guitars at GC, and did notice that some of them were buzzy and didn’t play well up the neck, but this was most likely a setup issue. Hopefully yours is spot on. Good luck, and let us know what you think.

I recently picked up a 2022 Oxnard M-20 and I am very impressed with sound and build. I've loved Guilds for many years, but this one exceeded my expectations.

Still wonder why nobody ever nicknamed it the "Natty Dread"...
