This brand has a long and varied history. I own a Sigma Anniversary D10 from 1980 that is the reason I don't own a Martin dread. It was a ridiculously great value.

This is an impossibly rare Eastman AJ-616. They made a handful of these when they were starting up flat-top production. Carved back of flamed Siberian maple, same for the neck 16" body that looks like a '20s Robert Johnson style L-1 except a much deeper body.. Lacquer finish, Grover Imperial style tuners that work great.

Notice the Martin-style bridge. Has beautiful wood, including an Englemann spruce top. Has a 1 3/4" neck that plays like a dream, terrific mic (Don't know the brand but it sounds like an acoustic guitar plugged in), ebony board and bridge.

Bought it off craigslist for $750 in a very sturdy case. Sounds like a vintage Gibson 185 only better, huge and very resonant. A killer axe.

Recording King for sure. My RD-316 has pretty much killed my D-18 gas. And for 1/4 of the price.

just got myself a Breedlove Pursuit 12 string for just a little over $400 bucks.
new.
needed a little set-up work but with a gig bag, i thought it was a pretty good deal
really liking the tone & feel with the medium strings, tuned down to D
a lot of fun

Another vote for Eastman. Especially the higher-end models ... for $800-$1000, you get a LOT of guitar!

They're diamonds, but there's nothing rough about'em.

How you getting on with the 000 Mick? I went for the 0 model from the same EZ Tone Plus range. Amazing price for an all solid guitar.
