Last minute ideas for a visit to Nashville
I'll be in Nashville this Thursday and Friday and would appreciate any tips for guitar and music related fun. I plan to visit Carter's new store, and may stop by Gruhn's also. Have been to both before (not the new Carter's) about a year ago. Are there other stores I should visit? I've been to the Country Music HOF and the Ryman a couple of times.
I see that Junior Brown is playing at the Station Inn on Thursday night, but it seems there are lots of other low key venues that might have music I would like. For me that's traditional country, bluegrass, blues, roots music in general, acoustic or electric. Don't know yet what part of town I'll be staying in, but I have a car. I'll be driving through Asheville, NC and Knoxville on the way to Nashville. Does anyone have suggestions for any quick guitar-related stops in either place? Thanks?

Gallagher Guitar is in Murfreesboro, southeast of Nashville about 35 miles. I haven't been to their new location but have seen photos; looks like a nice shop.

It's hard to beat a Junior Brown show, and impossible to beat the Station Inn. That's where I'd go.

If you're coming from Asheville towards Nashville, stop at the Music Outlet in Sevierville. Great shop.
The Gallagher shop in Murfreesboro is more manufacturing than sales, but you can likely get a tour. I did when I picked up my guitar. |

I live about 70 miles away from Nashville and my favorite thing to do in Nashville is to never go there! LOL I’ll second the Music Outlet in Sevierville!

Last time we were there I spent a day at the Gibson Garage and Carters. We caught a Ricky Skaggs show at the Opry and had a good time walking down Broadway. Kind of a redneck Bourbon St., but way cleaner and less smelly. Lots of good guitar players in those clubs up and down Broadway. Its a fun place for a couple of days.

Guitar Gallery is in Nashville for more small shop guitars. Not sure if you have to have an appointment. I have never been there but they have sold several guitars for me and have one of mine now.

Not guitar related, but grab you some hot chicken while you're there... and maybe a brew from Yazoo...
