Default Looking for some ideas (TRC)

hey all. I want to get a capt. bill TRC for my new W15 (all wally) and i just don't know what i want to put on it. obviously i'm a huge dave fan from my handle but i feel dave related TRC's just aren't unique anymore. I got a beautiful one done with waterfalls for my k65 because i felt hawaii=scenery and waterfalls. really worked out well and i'm loving it. What do i get for the W15?? I really have no idea. what screams walnut??

i think a picture of dave like the one Capt. Bill did of John Denver would be really awesome. Like a sillouette (spelling?). walnut inlay on an ebony TRC. YES!

I got "My Name" Model on mine, but you may not be in need of as rich a fantasy life as I evidently need.

How about this picture from DMB's main site? Also, how about the DMB Firedancer in Walnut but the background being in Ebony. Just some ideas

I'm a DMB fan too and I wouldnt get rid of the whole DMB image entirely. You can do some cool things with different DMB pictures. Good luck bud.

Default Questions...

1. Who is Captain Bill?

2. What is TRC?

It sounds like you're talking about custom inlay but I can't figure out what TRC stands for.

Ohh, links?

Captain Bill is Bill Nichols. Heres his site http://www.nicholsguitars.com/
I highly recommend checking out his site, he does some unbelievable work for custom TRCs, fretboards, pickguards, etc.

TRC stands for Truss Rod Cover

Personally, I like the DM silhouette if you don't already have it. The chipmunk is good, but may be a little to "cutesey"--then again, if the chimpmunk had FANGS and a really mean expression...

How about a nice inlayed WALNUT?? Maybe caught in a nut-cracker? Or a beautifully branched Walnut tree (do they have a distinctive shape)? Frankly, I like the tree-would look nice--or a tree with a small squirrel silhouetted at it's base--kinda standing up looking up the tree trunk?

OK--I'm stretching here. Sorry--just trying to be creative! Wonder if Uncle Bill is squirming saying "Oh NOOOOOOOO! Not THAT!! What an idiot!" ?

See--now you guys know what I'm talking about!!

Very nice--especially the tree. Now if you can also include a walnut laying on the ground at the base of the tree, AND a squirrel--you've got a mural for a TRC! OK, Uncle Bill--you up to all that?

(BTW, Bill-I have one of your TRC's for my 855 you did a bit over a year ago, with a cross and winding lily plant-gets some real compliments. I have recommended you to a number of folks--my daughter-in-law's Dad is a Methodist pastor, with a 900 series Taylor 12-I keep telling her she should get a Nichols TRC for a unique gift. I think she may be leaning that way finally!)

You can see my Capt. Bill TRCs on his website. It's the Celtic symbol on the headstock repeated. Liked it so much,I got for both.
