Default Put Martin Retros on my Taylor 555 12

Yowza

I like Retros. Decided to order a set to try on my Taylor 555 12 string. Success.

YMMV of course.

I have a Breedlove Revival 000 12 fret that is going to get those, next string change. Glad to hear that you like them on the Taylor

I haven't tried the Retro's on a 12-string yet but did try D'Addario Nickel Bronze on my Guild F-412 for the 1st time just 2 weeks ago - outstanding on this guitar.

I have NB mediums on my HD 28 six string right now. I like them okay but seems to take a lot longer to play in than the retros do. That’s why I ordered the retros for the Taylor. I am working up some arrangements and recording some of my old songs I wrote a long time ago and wanted to use the 12 string but didn’t want to wait a week to record. Retros always sound ready to record right out of the pack to me.

I've been using the Retros on my Guild 12 string (all mahogany), and I love them.
I was put off the D'Addario NB's recently as I put some on one of my other guitars and noticed several tarnish spots on them, wrote D'Addario and they replied with send photos, I did and they said they'd send me new *G* & *E* strings. I replied with no thanks, I'll not be using them anymore.

They sound “new” without sounding “shrill” and stay thay way for a very long time.
