Default NGD: Yamaha FG9 M

What have I done?

The new FG9 M arrived today from Willcutt. I am breathless at the quality and variety of tone in this elegant work of art, science, and craftsmanship. I am unworthy to hold this instrument. It’s a dream.

Every sound it makes has musicality, volume, subtlety. Every place it makes contact with the player is comfortable and thoughtfully created. Every bit of its visual appearance is understated but impressive, down to the finest detail. But the tone…

Strum with passion and it doesn’t overdrive. Channel the soul of blues and it sings. Lightly fingerpick and its presence is undiminished.

Try it for yourself, of course. Now that I have, I’m in agreement with the reviewer who said that at this price, the FG9 is a bargain.

Well stated. Thanks for adding fuel to my GAS fire. Lol. I'm hoping for an electricified 7 model, i.e. FGX7 with an Atmosfeel pickup or a reimagined ART pickup system.

Congratulations. Enjoy. I feel the same way about my LLX26.

Thanks, YamahaGuy! Hope they will build you one

Congrats on the new guitar! I am about to pick up my retirement guitar as a gift to myself and the FG9 is battling it out at the top of my list.

You have gotten the elusive FG9. Sounds like you might like it just a wee bit.

Congratulations on a fine guitar.
I would love to own the Rosewood version myself.

Congrats on your Yamaha! You snagged the mahogany version, which is the one I'm aching to play! I hope you enjoy it for many years!

As Tom says, these are definitely elusive out in the wild.

Beaucoup congrats, indeed, on the acquisition of such a superior-sounding instrument.

By the way, your image doesn't show on my screen. Not sure if this is exactly YOUR image, but it's the one that popped up when I copied and pasted your given url into my browser; it actually resolves to a different url than the one you originally provided:

Addendum--OK, upon further investigation, I now understand what you did. You provided the url to a web page, bracketed by AGF image tags, not an image address. Here's the web page you in actual fact linked to:

Thanks so much!!! I always have trouble posting pics.

This one is the actual guitar that I bought from Willcutt’s, so I hoped they don’t mind the extra promotion…
