Let’s see ‘em if you got ‘em…

Mine is a 2103 Guild Orpheum 12 Fret D designed and built in the custom shop at the New Hartford factory when Ren Ferguson was in charge there.

My Dad’s Starfire V * from around 1965 or so (missing the control knobs in the pic as the guitar was being cleaned after having been neglected for a few years…&#129394. It will be mine one day.

*edit: It was pointed out that it is of course the Bert Whedon model from the early 60s - it even says so on the pick guard; don’t know what I was thinking there; many thanks to Hans Moust for pointing it out[emoji4]

These are all gone except for the '95 12 string. 11/16ths just didn't cut it for me anymore as I aged up, so I switched to a wider fingerboard. Fingerboard width was not an issue with the 12 string. There is a '73 F 50R, I believe a GF 60, the F 512, a D 60 and a D 55, all Westerly made.

I can’t seem to post pictures on this forum, but count me as a Guild fan. I have an Oxnard D20 and a D40 Traditional. Both are fantastic guitars for every thing I want to play on a guitar.

In addition, I favor the 1-11/16” nut width and 12” radius of the fretboard. Just feels right to me.

Here’s my Westerly D-55. This guitar was previously owned by Mike Wanchic, John Mellencamp’s guitarist. It has a lot of battle scars, but it sounds like a million bucks. It is my favorite dread.

I'm the second owner of this 1981 D-46. I've owned it since 2000. Many guitars have come and gone since then, but this one I'll always keep. Versatile and bulletproof. And heavy!

I've also owned a D-55, two D-50s, and a DCE-5.

I've owned Guild in the past. Don't own one now but do plan on adding a Guild D-1212 12-string sometime this year.

The Ren Ferguson years in New Hartford were amazing. Living not too far from the factory, I was able to take several tours and get to know the staff there at several 'Lets Meet Guild' events.

Your Orpheum is probably the best example of what Ren was trying to achieve. His line was, "This is the guitar that Guild would have made if Guild was around in the 1930s."

Ren was\is a maven of efficiency in manufacturing. Over a two year period, the four floor factory became a two floor factory. Employees were cross-trained and encouraged to increase efficiencies of motion and logistics based on 'Kaizen' techniques.

I am sad that they left my neck of the woods, but am extremely happy that the ball was picked up by Cordoba in Oxnard.

I have what appears to be one of the first D30, it is marked as a G37/D30 handwritten on the label. The serial number indicates that it was one of the very first made.

I don't have a pic at the moment, but my only Guild is a '78 D-40C. I got it from the widowed mother of a long-time friend, whose father played for years it in an old-time country band. It's very beat up, with scratches, divots and tiny cracks here and there, but wow, it sounds great. It's always a pleasure to pick it up and take it out for a spin.

Super comfortable to play and really great tone. Surprisingly good bottom end for its size.20220305_114519.jpg20220305_120004.jpg

My D55. It is a great sounding guitar. However, the bridge started to separate last year so I had to take it off and re-glue it. It's the only guitar I've owned that's had that issue. After removing and inspecting it, it did not look like they used enough adhesive. There was very, very little that I had to clean up before re-gluing it. That was a bit disappointing, but otherwise it's a wonderful guitar.
