Buzz Feiten Tuning System on an acoustic-
Hi AGF.
Recently ordered a Tom Anderson Tele. Stoked for it’s arrival. It’s the only guitar that I’ve seen with this BFTS utilised. A compensated nut/ saddle combo to correct intonation issues with the first three frets. Has anyone ever retrofitted this to one of your guitars? What was your thoughts? |

I had the “system” installed on two of my American Fenders. Ultimately, it proved to be more trouble than it was worth. Feiten’s “fix” simply swaps one problem for another. I wouldn’t recommend it and could never determine there was much of a difference between my guitars pre-feiten and post-feiten. It did make them more difficult to sell when I eventually moved them on.

I purchased a new guitar many years ago with the "system". It did nothing but move any possible intonation issues to a different section of the neck. Not good or bad...everything is a compromise I believe.

I have the system on both my McPhersons(Sable and Camrielle) both guitars intonate well up and down the neck. I notice it most on the B string when fretted at the third string. My other acoustics have a tendency to render the note sharp, these two don’t.

I've had two guitars that came with the system. For me personally it was a waste of time.
I never thought it sounded better and I had to use a machine loaded with the tuning. Just too much trouble for no real return. Just my own view. Nick |

It's no magical. If all you play is cowboy chords it'll help the 2nd string (b) a bit easier to deal with. So will intonating it at the saddle. It didn't turn out to be the 'magic-bullet' it was billed as. |

Thanks again for the feedback. I think I’ll be happy to try it, and leave the other guitars alone.
Seems like the adage “The enemy of ‘good’ is ‘better’” applies here. |
