I use a strap when standing, but not when sitting.

Prefer leather straps, and favourite maker would be Sully Straps

Mine has a moveable shoulder piece that's about 2 inches wide, the rest of the strap itself is skinny, maybe 1/2 an inch wide

Attaches at the heel

Don't treat it with anything because don't want anything coming off on clothing or making contact with the guitar's finish

Don't keep it in the case

I prefer plain straps, no padding and wouldn't put my name on a strap either

This sums it up nicely for me. I like the Right On! straps.

Do you like a fancy strap or a plain one? Plain-ish. A little design pattern or color contrast is nice.

Do you have your name on a strap? No.

Padded or Not? Padded.

Do you attach the strap at the heal or the neck? Heal.

Is the strap kept inside the guitar case when not in use? No, hangs on a desk near the guitars.

Yes, I am bored this morning. It happens.

How many of you use a strap?
I use a strap when ever I play outside of the house, even when seated.

What is your favorite maker and material?
On my mid priced guitars and if I ever get into High priced guitars it is Levy, and I prefer leather.

On my entry level guitars I use cloth. These are usually Dunlop.

How wide do you like your strap?
2" to 3"

If your strap is leather, do you use any type of conditioner on it?
Never gave it a thought.

Do you like a fancy strap or a plain one?
Depends on the mood I'm in when I buy it.

Do you have your name on a strap?
No, but the one for my GD93 says Takamine.

Padded or Not?
My leather straps are all padded. The cloth no.

Do you attach the strap at the heal or the neck?
If the guitar doesn't have a pin for the heal I will add one. I don't care for tying them to the headstock.

Is the strap kept inside the guitar case when not in use?
Every guitar has it's own strap and it is kept in the case.

Edit:

After reading some of the responses I though I would clarify my last answer.

All of my straps are stored in the respective case for each guitar. But none of the straps are on the guitar. It gets rolled up and placed in the storage compartment in each case.

I always use a strap, even when sitting.

Every guitar I own has it's own strap. I make an effort to leave the strap attached, even with the guitar is in its case.

All my straps are Peri Baseball straps.

I always use a strap. The only specifics I want are 3" width, and either suede, or leather with suede lining.

I have (2) 3" leather straps from Double Treble. Unpadded.
I may get a 2.5" for my other instrument, but I haven't determined if I want 2.5, 3, or even the same style strap yet.
I always use one standing (how can't you?) and never really when sitting (it isn't even under tension anyway sitting....)
The RainSong mounts to the heel and the output jack, the X30 attaches to the body and the output jack.
Each instrument has its own strap, and I use Hennessey locking strap buttons on everything, so it's interchangeable if need be.

The name is actually black, but it looks sort of maroon for some reason in the photo. It is black though. When I order it, I had no name on it, but the guy talked with me for a bit and said it was no extra charge. So I figured why not. Actually like it, but that's why it's black, so it's just very subtle.
The logo is one I made back in 1993-1994 or so, in middle school. Figured why not? Last name is Slade, so its the "Ace of Slades".

I do, most of the time.

Levy's soft leather.

2-1/2"
If your strap is leather, do you use any type of conditioner on it?
Absolutely not.
Do you like a fancy strap or a plain one?
Simple strap, color to match guitar.
Do you have your name on a strap?
No.
Padded or Not?
Not.
Do you attach the strap at the heal or the neck?
Heel. I have permanent recessed Dunlop Strap-lok sockets in heel and above end jack.

Is the strap kept inside the guitar case when not in use?
Yes, when the guitar isn't hanging on the wall or sitting in a stand.
Yes, I am boared this morning.
Sorry to hear that! It must have been terribly painful, I hear their tusks are quite sharp.
So it's basically on most of the time. I use a strap whether standing or seated, but I occasionally take it off if I'm slouching in the easy chair.

I don’t always wear a strap, but when I do, I prefer the adjustable cotton ones.

I use to use a strap sometimes when I played electric, have no idea what brand. Now that I'm a home player i never use a strap and would never want to stand up and play my acoustic, just no connection there for me...

I have a strap for each guitar. I use Lakota Leather straps and I also have a Sully strap. I have a 2.5” strap for my parlor and my others are 3” wide. Mine are plain brown or tan with suede on the underside that prevents slippage. Not padded. My Sully Strap is a nice brown with a bourbon color stitch decoration. It has an extra layer of soft leather padding where it goes over the shoulder. I have never had to condition any of them and they have stayed soft and supple. I hang them in the closet of my music/office space. And, I use the Tapastring strap keeper for the guitars that have pick up jacks.
I have strap buttons on the lower side of the neck up near where the neck joins the body on 3 guitars and on the heel cap on 1 guitar.
I have an old tan suede strap that I got with my first Martin guitar 30 years ago, it is stained and dirty looking but still does the job.
Lots of great choices for guitar straps these days. If price is not a consideration, Singing Crane makes gorgeous fabric straps from antique kimonos. They are functional pieces of art.
Best,
Jayne

Each guitar has its own strap, made either of leather or suede. I use a strap 100% of the time.

I’ve used a Couch 2 inch extra long in black “Western” pattern for years now. I think it’s vinyl actually. I bought a 3 inch padded Levi’s and it’s overkill for me using an acoustic. I do appreciate good leather tooling and I’ll probably spring for a Sullys or Lakota soon. Been wanting to reward myself with something.
