Lr Baggs Align Series Pedals

I have to be honest, I am not overly excited about these. I understand that some people just need an equalizer or more of a straight forward di but to me, it seems as though they have just broken up their Venue Di into separate boxes in order to cash in on more sales. The only one I am interested in is the reverb pedal as it's truly a new effect. I don't know how much I buy into the DI being all that improved over other DI's that Baggs currently offers.

The one that bugs me the most is the Session pedal. I bought the Session DI recently as I wanted the saturation and comp controls. It was pretty expensive here in Canada. If this new one is exactly the same but without the XLR out and more affordable then I will be a bit upset.

Thoughts?

Thanks Petty1818 for linking us to some new gear! But like you said, it's as if they just took apart their previous product and made them into individual pedals to sell for more. I'd love a compressor and reverb right now in my chain but there's a good chance these pedals will cost a lot more than what I'm willing to pay for at this juncture.

I’m sure they will be nice pedals, I will say.. not super impressed with that tone in the promo video though.. And yes, feels like a money grab.

I think it's LR Baggs' response to customers needs. For instance, people wanted the Venue preamp but with saturation/compression from the Session DI, so far they had to buy two preamps which is not the best idea for a pedal chain. Now you can get Session DI and add to it the new EQ pedal etc.

It gives us more choice on how we want to create our pedal boards, instead of them making something which compromises our individual needs and preferences.

Here at AGF, from time to time there is a question about an appropriate EQ pedal for acoustics, the new Baggs EQ is specifically designed for these instruments and might be a better choice than Boss GE-7.

Personally I'm interested in their EQ and saturation/compression pedal.

I agree, that from the video it doesn't seem like they're doing anything special. But let's wait for more demonstrations.

These are definitely a nice approach to align the popular features of their most famous devices (minus the reverb pedal). I'm curious if they can be purchased as a set for any level of discount instead of buying them a la carte.

One interesting thing to consider is how the session align pedal will impact the sales of the session di. The session is a well built di but it lacks eq and it's quite expensive. One could buy the align session and a proper preamp/di for less than even the session di on its own. I know for me, I recently purchased the session di to add to my rig and I am already planning to sell/return it. It just seems like a lot to spend, especially if I can get the session align for $100 or more cheaper.

I think they are still fairly new so there may not be many user reviewers. However, you might want to look at session di information. I believe the new align comp is just the same comp as the session di.

Tks..yea..pretty new..was looking a bodyrez too from tc electronics, but
need to get a vol.. to this all goes into a red eye. (no vol)
