Do you have English heritage? 'Quite nice' is very high praise indeed, where I come from

Life is easier here in Boise, JR. The house stays at 40-50% most of the time, and we are surrounded by lawn and trees. Indoor RH drops toward 30% during the peak heating or AC seasons, but really never gets below 30%. I now humidify cases only December thru March, and only start when my hygrometers stay below 40% for more than a day or two. Even though it is less of a problem, still I am slowly divesting most of the wooden guitars in favor of CF.

In Anchorage, we had to pump 10 gallons per day using a cabinet humidifier to get the house UP to 20% RH during winters, and winter heating season was five months long. I've done a lifetime's worth of guitar humidifying.....

Nice guitar J.R. !!!!! Had the same model but with the center hole. Agree with you on the Black Ice. Very cool look. Enjoy!

Hey JR! Happy New Year. Great looking guitar. I don't spend the time on here that I used to, but I've also turned over to CF guitars. Still have one Taylor, but it's for sale right now too.

I have had several Rainsongs and the only one I kept was the Black Ice JM1000.
Pictures don’t does these justice, you have to see it in person. I always thought that it is ironic that it is so cool but made with a bunch of scraps glued together! How do you think of such a thing?

Beautiful guitar, I love the 1005, I didn't know they were doing the black ice on it. I was wondering how they did that. Congrats J.R.

Has anyone here been able to A/B the same model RainSong in both "Concert" and "Black Ice" models? How different do they sound?

Sure thing. The Black Ice tops sound just like the standard models, while the unidirectional carbon fiber of the Concert series tends to mellow some of the highs for a slightly warmer tone. Concert series tops are also thinner, so perhaps a bit more responsive.
