I have said I will always keep this guitar or that guitar but it has never held true, like so many of you have done the same thing. I don't have any sentimental guitars, I already sold the one I played for 30 years. But if I had to keep just one, I would probably keep my 0000 Sinker because of its versatility.

But truly none of them are off limits.

I have sold way too many guitars that I figured I'd never sell, so I am hesitant to say there is one that I would NEVER sell. The only one that I would be unlikely to sell is a custom guitar I had made by a local luthier. It really could cover most of my bases if I needed it to. It's a dread with sinker redwood over walnut. The fretboard is ebony, as is the bridge. The inlays and neck were made to my specs. I doubt I would try to sell this one.

There are probably none of mine that are completely safe, but I would say that my Martin D-16GT would be the one to stay forever. My wife bought it for me as a 10 year wedding anniversary gift.

Acoustic: FG5
Electric: Les Paul Special. Its pretty easy to find a Strat/Tele I like but not a Les Paul.

But realistically I can’t imagine being so hard up for cash or space I’d sell my FG830.
In the spirit of the game. My one guitar would be the FG5

I have an emotional attachment to my 70 Guild D 35 because I brought it back from the dead, but It would probably go before my 2011 SCGC D PW.

I have sold exactly three good guitars in 50 years. Two were to the same friend, one traded as part of the package toward the Santa Cruz.

None of mine are hugely expensive or rare, but my "last guitar standing" would by my 000-15SM. It makes me smile every time I pick it up.
