Ha! The guitar that I PAID LEAST for is my 1969 Martin D28 Brazilian - a whopping $335 bucks in 1970 to the original owner..

Might be worth a dollar or two more now?

Okay, don't have a photo of it where I can get at it, but my cheapest guitar was the first one I bought myself, a Guild Classical Spruce/Mahogany, built in Hoboken, NJ. Paid $165 for it new in 1967. Rosewood fretboard. Took me through college and was played regularly until I got my first Taylor. I promised that guitar I would never sell it, and 47 years later, that is still true.

That Sir, was the perfect way to do it!

That's a great good Karma story. I wonder if the person before you/after you did the same?

My "cheapest" was given to me. It's not cheap though, it's a Martin 5-18 probably worth a couple of thousand dollars. The least I ever paid was $15 for some cheap dread based on the Martin design. I sold it for $15.

That gave me a fight. I had one as my first guitar and still have numbness in my left and fingertips. That was 1963.

I've wondered that myself. I like to think it's still out there somewhere...

This Synchronium / kapok guitar (cost less than $40) was broken and discarded when I found it in a wood workshop.
Gave it a new life and now it is serving full time in Church.

THAT is cool. What a great conversation piece.

My cheapest guitar is a $75 Johnson I got on eBay several years ago. It plays well and sounds good for what it is. It makes for a decent campfire strummer. The blue finish has turned a splotchy green over the years, so I recently stripped it of hardware. The next step is to refinish it. I have a few design ideas. Doing something with the written word is a possibility.

Paid $200 for this used The Loar LO-16. Seller said it was in "near mint" condition - but I couldn't find anything that was not 100% "mint" on it.

Love this guitar.

The guitars for which I paid least are a 1935 Martin 0-18 and a Danelectro-made Silvertone 1457. I paid $75 for each of them-- the Martin in 1964, the Silvertone in '93.
