Want to cycle to venue - what about the rain
I want to take my small Takamine electro acoustic to my local open-mic venues on my bicycle, but obviously it might rain - is there a case to offer full rain protection that is lightweight and can go on my back?
I have peeped at recent other 'gigging bag' threads but couldn't see anything that covers this situation Thanks. Neil |

Garbage bag? Use a regular gig bag and stuff it in a garbage bag. May not be completely submersible but should work fine.

Most gig-bags will be tight enough to keep a guitar dry unless you were out for a while in a real hard rain.

My GS Mini in it's gig bag has survived a few showers while I was cycling . Admittedly probably pretty short runs, like 20 mins , tops. In non-torrential, standard British rain.
Take the geetar out and rub 'er down upon arrival, then air the bag out. They make a big and I think better version here : Doesn't actually claim to be waterproof tho' https://www.taylorguitars.com/taylor...aylor-hard-bag I have seen other makes of gig bag that have a separate rain over- cover too, can't remember what make Last edited by Long Jon; 10-17-2014 at 09:59 PM. |

I picked up a Levy's pro (polyester) gig bag a while ago and It came with rain cover. Not sure they still do.

This is what I've done when taking my Voyage Air on my motorcycle. I wrap the guitar in a garbage bag inside the case and it works great. If some moisture gets through the backpack case, the guitar stays nice and dry.
