Default Sticky finish problem

A friend of mine has an old Breedlove Acoustic.
He loves the guitar, but the finish (my guess would be that it's nitro), has a sticky feel to it.
Any suggestions (cleaners, etc.) for removing the sticky feel?

Thanks.

That would be my guess.

Nitro, if it is a nitro finish, can feel "tacky" in some climates for some players. I think part of it is body chemistry. However, it could just be an accumulation of crap on the guitar and if this is the case, as mentioned, good old lighter fluid will clean it right up.

(But be sure it's nitro before using it!)

Yup, try Ronsonol lighter fluid, the naphtha it contains is perfectly safe (good for lots of other uses as well, read the label), just use in a well ventilated area.

-Thanks, guys.

My friend will be arriving in a few minutes (we're going to the PRS Experience).
I'll pass the information on to him.
