For me it was Peter, Paul and Mary's version of "Don't Think Twice It's Alright".
Then the Beatles hit the scene......

My dad used to play and sing "Where Have all the Flowers Gone?" by the Kingston Trio when I was a kid. That's what did it for me.

I was about ten or eleven years old, and my dad took me to the Queen Elizabeth theatre in Vancouver. There was a single chair on the stage. A short guy in a bad suit came out with a guitar, sat in the chair, and leaned forward to speak in the mic positioned just in front of him. He said a single world: "Malaguena."
His name was Carlos Montoya. I was hooked.

Not sure if it was the song or the fact that it was the first time I got to sit close to a very nice guitar and the sound blew me away.
When I was a teenager I was working in a gas station and some guy came in to get the oil changed in his car. He had a Guild guitar and was noodling around in the office while he waited. I was sitting at the desk and asked him to play something and he ripped into Neil Young's "Damage Done." Many years ago, but never forgot it. |

Which song made you fall in love with the acoustic guitar?
Back in '58, when I was 10, I heard a song by Bobby Bare, entitled "All-American Boy" and I knew I wanted to play the guitar! Enjoy the lyrics of my life!

I loved that song (and still do) when I was a kid.
It wasn't one song for me, it was Bob Dylan.
