Acoustic Alvarez dating method
Not that I want to take my Alvarez out on a date, but I did inherit from my dad an Alvarez model 5044 with a serial #1071 that I'm pretty sure was purchased either late 60s or very early 70s. I was wondering if there was a definitive way of looking up the date this guitar was made. I play this acoustic daily, love the tone and everything else about it. Any ideas? The Internets so far have been mum on serial numbers on vintage Alvarezes.
Thanks, Kevin |

If you are on Facebook, you can PM Alvarez via their page.
You should get an answer back in 72 hours or less. My 5013 has the date of manufacture (2-2-80) on the sticker. It is the only one I own that has had this.
