Question I can buy a 412K; what's fair price?

I have the opportunity to buy a 412K (Koa) Taylor. It's a Grand Concert style body from 1996 and has been sitting in the case for a while as the potential player had some medical problems and isn't able to play. He's interested in passing it on to me. It's basically mint condition and no warps, etc.. I don't think he ever played it. It is just drop dead gorgeous! What would a fair price be for such an instrument? Thanks...

You'll get even more responses with an e-mail address.
I would e-mail you with what I paid for my '96 420K.
But I won't post it. We're not supposed to talk about prices.

Thanks. I just registered and didn't even look at the email options. I've changed them to allow emails now. *-- Asha

Hi Asha. Welcome to the forum. Nothing personal, but this forum has a rule of not posting prices (in accordance with Taylors marketing policy) over the net. Members will gladly give you pricing info by email however.

In addition to the prices people email you, you should also look at 412s and 414s in similar condition on Ebay. The K might add a couple of dollars to the selling price, but it does not really change the basic commercial value much from what a regular used 412 or 414 sells for unless you personally are willing to pay extra because you like the sound or the look or something like that.

That was my understanding also.
New gear prices weren't to be discuessed.
But used is ok.

Greetings!

No pricing discussions. JR hasn't changed the rule. Feel free to use your email.
