Nabbed this bad boy today. I see everyone selling guitars when they get a divorce and after the split all I can think is now I got nobody to get mad at me for GAS anymore. This is another forever guitar to the collection! The most pleasing dread I’ve ever played.

I hear ya! Dear Mrs. Cougar can be a real B about the expense. I just picked up what actually should be the last one, at least for quite some time. And I'm unloading two that, honestly, I don't really play anymore. I'm quite satisfied with what I've got.

But man, that's a fine looking Martin. Major congrats!

I love my 2017 HD-28. My first thought when I got her home and new strings on was "why did I wait so long (35 years since I started playing guitar) to get this?"

What a good way to show independence. You should get a couple more and hang them on the wall and put pics on social media. Or text her a pic and say “just so you know” with a meme of Ray Barone saying it.

My wife bought me an HD 28 as a "thanks for moving to TX" present when she got a promotion back in 2017. I love them both.

Very nice rep there, and aren't they awesome? One of the all-time greats, IMO.

Thanks everybody! I’m learning the ins and outs of it. Amazing strummer, subpar finger style when comes to my OM, but clearly I bought it to be a cannon and not a finger style guitar. It’s super dynamic and responsive to various pick attacks and I’ve been playing everything from old country to Dave Matthews just fine. Looking forward to many years with it. Taking it on a road trip from VA to PA for a weekend stay

Congrats on a true classic. Not sure where you’ll be in PA (it’s a big state), but if you have a chance to visit the Martin factory and museum, it’s worth the trip.
