Default Anyone played a Mcilory AS?

Seems like no one has played an ASP, so I'm trying with the AS. I don't know what a soft V feels like. Thanks.

Hi Karen,
It's very hard to describe the feel of a guitar neck in words. What I can say is that in my experience McIlroy necks are slimmer than Lowden necks and not a clear V shape like some American guitars.
I like a chunky neck and they are too slim for me. Another thing to consider is that they are all hand carved so they will vary a little.
Dermot McIlroy is a very helpful and pleasant man to talk to and will probably answer the phone personally if you give him a call.
I hope this helps, good luck.

I have the A30 which has the same neck. It’s such a soft V shape that most of the time I forget it even has that profile. It’s a very comfy neck, not too deep but the profile lends itself to finding a good thumb position behind the neck. I’d recommend it, but neck shapes are a really personal taste.

I have an A30 made in 2011 and an A25 from 2012 and would also say the V is really soft and not very noticeable when playing, and disappears almost completely on one above the 4th fret or so. Overall quite slim.

Having said that I am not too sensitive to neck profile or width so probably not the best to advise....
