2 guitars I'm checking out today, which one do you prefer?
2 used guitars I am going to check out later today. Which would you choose? Which do you think is the better deal given the description and asking price? Plan to use this guitar for finger picking.

I have personally never liked the cutaway on the Streetmaster. For $200 less you get a nicer looking and maybe sounding guitar. Unless the 15M has problems it’s a no brainer. Price seems good to me right where it is. Can’t say if it’s a better deal but it’s cheaper and appeals to me more.

I would go with the 000-15m for the money. And I really try to avoid cutaways. I think you should be able to get them down a little more on the price though. I believe I've seen these going in the ~$900 range or a little less.

The 000 has a 1 11/16 nut per Martin website. IMHO very bad idea for finger picking. I think the OM has a 1 3/4 nut which is perfect. The string spacing makes a huge differece. Check that closely.

I'm partial to the 000. I played one of these on my original journey of 1,001 guitars before landing on a 000-18. They are really nice! Size is good. Sound is sweet. I prefer the look with pick guard, but this is one of those "no bad options" situations. Whichever one you select will be just grand! (But get the 000. You had me at the smell.)

Personally, I would (and did about a year ago when I had the choice) choose the 000-15m
The 000-15m just has something to it that is hard to describe. It's like comfort food |

Whichever sounds and feels better. No other factors to consider, IMO.

My vote goes to the 000-15M. But if the other one has a 1-3/4" nut width and you prefer that for finger-picking, then it's a good option too.

I think it's a bit of a toss-up. Which do you like better? The difference in nut widths might make a difference to you.
I am mostly a finger picker, but I really prefer 1 11/16" nut width over 1 3/4", probably because I spent almost 5 1/2 decades playing a '67 Martin D-35. But the nut width for me on either guitar would not be an issue. For my tastes, I would probably choose the 000-15M, but I am not you, obviously. - Glenn

While Marty and Glenn are right and you should pick the one that floats your boat, I’m clearly inclined toward 000 15. I ain’t a cutaway dude.

No question for me, 000.

What are everyone's drawbacks on the cutaway? Thus far seems to be the biggest turn off on the GPC. I was expecting majority to lean toward the 000 but curious what the main reason you like it better?
Actually looking forward to comparing these. |

For me, the 000. I don't care much for the "Street" finish or cutaway or electronics. Even the wider nut doesn't mean much to me as I switch frequently from a 00-15M to 1 3/4" nut Martins and really don't notice.
But you may like what I don't and the GPC is, no doubt, a fine guitar. |

Can you play both before choosing? If so, then obviously the one that feels and sounds better. They're both pretty. I like the coloring on the GPC.
I fingerpick my J-45 with a 1.72" nut and 2.2" spacing at the bridge without any issues. So personally I wouldn't let that stop me. YMMV, etc.
